Plasma-Based Therapy
Autologous Conditioned Plasma (ACP), a type of platelet rich plasma (PRP) therapy, has been used to assist in the treatment and recovery of injuries.
When an injury occurs, platelets release growth factors that aid in the healing process. ACP is a simple process that uses a small amount of your own blood. Once the blood is taken from your arm, the platelets and growth factors are then concentrated through a rapid spinning process. The concentrated platelets and growth factors are then injected into the injury site, thereby increasing your levels of growth factors which optimize the environment for healing.
ACP has a wide variety of indications, but it is most commonly used for tendinous and arthritic injuries. Ask Dr. Liu to see if ACP is the right choice for you!
